Design of Manufacture Technology

The ever changing manufacturing world creates increasing demand on engineers to make their best possible decisions in terms of product design and manufacturing process at decreasing costs and a faster pace requires knowledge of methods in design optimization.

Optimization has become a necessary part of product design and decision-making activities in mechanical, manufacturing and mechatronic engineering.

The team at Hamilton By Design utilize the technology and its applications to produce virtual solid models which offer advanced optimization techniques in product design and manufacturing processes.

These latest developments on design and manufacture processes offer our team an array of optimisation tools and advanced manufacturing techniques which offer real options in resolving product design and manufacturing issues or challenges.

Hamilton By Design have developed vast expertise over the past 20 years in the design and manufacture processes which is based on first principles of engineering as there is no point to design pproducts that cannot be produced.

Product Development

One must argue that functionality takes precedence of form, there is no point to have a product that looks fabulous yet performs like a warm beer on a forty degree day.

Design For Manufacture

Design for manufacturability is the general engineering art of designing products in such a way that they are easy to manufacture. In general terms the basic idea exists in almost all engineering disciplines, but of course the details differ widely depending on the chosen manufacturing technology. This design practice not only focuses on the design aspect of a part but also on the the designs opens ness to cost effective production.

The design stage is very important in product design. Most of the product lifecycle costs are committed at design stage. The product design is not just based on good design but it should be possible to produce by manufacturing as well. Often an otherwise good design is difficult or impossible to produce. Typically a design engineer will create a model or design and send it to manufacturing for review and invite feedback. This process is called as design review. If this process is not followed diligently, the product may fail at manufacturing stage.

If these design for manufacturability guidelines are not followed, it will result in iterative design, loss of manufacturing time and overall resulting in longer time to market. Hence many organizations have adopted concept of Design for Manufacturing.

Depending on various types of manufacturing processes there are set guidelines for Design for manufacturing practices. These guidelines help to precisely define various tolerances, rules and common manufacturing checks related to Design for manufacturing.

The team at Hamilton By Design have a unique combination of manufacturing experience along with extensive industrial /product design experience. For more information on or to find out whether your product design is suitable for manufacture contact www.hamiltonbydesign.com.au

Tyre Recycle Machinery

Design For Manufacture on the Central Coast

Hamilton By Design have assisted Ray Goldberg's Company TRM USA across the world addressing many of Rays Crumb Manufacturing issues.

These design issues have resulted in:
  • Offer a higher levels of product quality
  • Improved machine reliability.
Both of these have lead to higher levels of customer satisfaction particularly in recent years. All machinery built by Hamiltopn By Design are serviced by Hamilton By Design with 5 year Maintenance contracts.
Over the years Ray and his businesses have been through a great deal and for the most part that has been written about him is not consistent with our experience we have found Ray to be an honest and very respectable director of a business. Futrhermore has always meet our terms with regard to payments.

As our confidentiality and intellectual property agreements have expired with Ray and his businesses Hamilton By Design are more than happy to assist other ambitious tyre recycling companies or improve existing the tyre recycling processes.
